Marybeth called Janus after a friend referred her to Janus Design. The challenge for this Bellaire family was how to transform a home, (space and furniture) that had served the family well when their girls were young, now that both girls were away and only home for short visits. The first rooms transformed were downstairs. New window treatments, space plan updates, and new and antique furniture purchases mixed well with a few of the clients’ treasures, creating just the right balance. The overlooked living room became a “Reading Room” which is used each day. As the perfect finishing accent, Janus located a one-of-a-kind piece of art work created out of vintage books to reflect the owners’ passion for reading.
Both girl’s rooms upstairs had almost identical white furniture. This presented an interesting design challenge to creating unique styles for each individual. Now the room updates not only welcome the girls when they come home but also serve as fun and inviting guest rooms.
